Since I guess this is a DIY and construction page for this week, here’s an update you probably didn’t ask for 🤣 I’ll try to make more of these as we move along with the project. We won’t be working on it as much over the next few months since we’re traveling so much for work, but we ended up staying home longer than we expected this time, so we took advantage of it. We took a week off from social media and really focused on the basement remodel. And since we’re doing pretty much everything ourselves, it’s definitely going to take a little longer. But we’re getting there! 🙌

Let’s make a Frozen Michelada. It’s been around 105°F in L.A. this week. So yeah, I’m kind of obsessed with this machine🤣. This Michelada is 100% inspired by the Strawberry Michelada Slushy at @daisy.losangeles , by the mad scientist that is @beerghost . Shout out to Max for always being an open book.

Needless to say, this is nothing like their original Michelada. It’s just a tribute 🤣. Anyway, here’s the recipe:

- Frozen Michelada -

• 10 oz / 300 ml / 1 1/4 cups Clamato
• 2 oz / 60 ml / 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 2 1/2 oz / 75 ml fresh lime juice
• 8 oz / 240 ml / 1 cup tomato water syrup
• Hot sauce to taste
• 0.8 g xanthan gum
• 0.8 g Foam Magic
• 36 oz (3 cans) beer of choice

Combine everything except the beer and mix well. Slowly add the beer, mix again, and pour into your slushy machine. Check that the Brix is around 13–15 before freezing.

- Tomato Water syrup -

Blend fresh tomatoes until smooth. Pour into a cheesecloth-lined strainer or a fine strainer and let strain overnight
DO NOT squeeze!

Then mix 4:2 ratio with sugar
Whisk cold until the sugar is completely dissolved. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.

Salucita.
@saeedhawkhouse told me I had to try Green Chartreuse and grape soda. Two of my favorite things…. Also don’t hate me, cuz I swear the Chartreuse shortage only exists in the US! 🤣.

Of course I’m kinda obsessed with frozen cocktails and slushies, so I bought this Ninja SLUSHi myself haha. So let’s make a Chartreuse and grape soda slushy in the Ninja SLUSHi machine for the first time.

Shout out to the monks!

- Green Chartreuse & Grape Soda slushy -

* 750 ml Green Chartreuse
* 2 L grape soda
* 120 ml fresh lime juice
* 500 ml water
* 1.8 g xanthan gum

Method:
Add all ingredients to a vessel and mix very well. Slowly pour into your slushy machine while it’s running. Mine took about 20 minutes to be ready.

Make sure to check your Brix level before adding the batch to the machine. You want it between 13–15° Brix for the right slushy consistency.
