If you’re a creator that’s thinking about signing with management… 👀💻 Pull up a chair, because this is the stuff I WISH someone told me BEFORE I started looking. (Also, I might’ve started a trial with a new agency…) Here’s the KEY things you need to know: #1: Your talent manager matters WAY MORE than the actual agency. Agencies come with all these shiny perks, sure, but at the end of the day your manager has to actually fit what your career needs. #2: Negotiation, my friends, is KEY. You want someone who will fight for you on the management side AND the brand side. And if your agency has built real, genuine relationships? That is where the REAL deals live. #3: Think of your agency as a business partner, not your boss. Yes they land you deals, yes they handle a lot of the behind the scenes chaos, but you are not reporting to them. You are collaborating with them. So if you never learn to delegate, put things on their radar, or do a little legwork to make yourself easy to sell, you are going to feel like you have ZERO say over your own career. Autonomy is a two way street, babes.
