Brown butter pumpkin chocolate chip cookies might just be the perfect September cookie. Soft, cozy, a little pumpkin-y, and loaded with chocolate. I finish mine with a little sprinkle of sea salt.🍂🍪

BROWN BUTTER PUMPKIN CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 cup unsalted butter
⅔ cup pumpkin purée
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup packed light brown sugar
2 large egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla
1⅔ cups + 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
2½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp fine sea salt
1 cup chopped semi-sweet chocolate

Brown the butter until golden and nutty, then chill until cooled but still liquid. Blot the pumpkin very well with paper towels to remove excess moisture (you’ll end up with about ⅓ cup).

Whisk the cooled brown butter with both sugars for 1 minute. Whisk in the egg yolks, vanilla and blotted pumpkin. Fold in the flour, pumpkin spice, baking soda, salt and chocolate.

Scoop into 3-tablespoon balls and place 2–3 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350°F for 11–13 minutes.

Football on, something cozy in the @crockpot … my favorite kind of season. 🏈🍂🤎 This steak & black bean chili is my mother-in-law’s recipe and one we’ve been making for years. It’s ridiculously easy and SO good.

Ingredients:
2 lbs beef top round steak, cut into ¾-inch cubes
1 (1 oz) envelope onion soup mix
2 (15 oz) cans black beans, rinsed and drained
1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (4.5 oz) can chopped green chiles, undrained
1 can corn, drained
3 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin

Directions:
Trim any excess fat from the steak and cut into ¾-inch cubes. Add the steak to the slow cooker and toss with the dry onion soup mix.

Add the black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, green chiles, corn, chili powder, and cumin. Stir everything together.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8–10 hours, until the steak is tender.

Don’t forget toppings! We love fresh cilantro, onion, shredded cheese and chili fritos. 🧡

One of my favorite little tricks to shift our home with the seasons is swapping the café curtains in my kitchen window… using dish towels!

Just find a pattern you love, add a tension rod and a few clip rings, and you have a whole new look for the season. 🍂
