I changed three small things on my resume recently, and I started getting more interviews.

The biggest shift was making my experience easier to scan fast. I added a short summary, made my skills much more specific, and rewrote my bullet points using Google’s XYZ formula so each one shows the outcome, the proof, and what I actually did.

In this market, recruiters are looking at a lot of qualified people. Your resume has to make your fit obvious within seconds.

yall know the job market in 2026 is absolutely cooked, and I got tired of seeing the same advice repeated from a completely different hiring market.

this year, I’ve been on both sides of dozens of tech interviews. I’ve interviewed candidates, interviewed for jobs myself, tested LinkedIn strategies, rewritten resumes, reached out to recruiters and hiring managers, and helped other people land interviews too.

So I’m turning everything that actually worked into this series: LinkedIn, resumes, referrals, recruiter outreach, interview prep, company research, negotiating offers, and all the weird little things people rarely teach you about getting hired.

Basically, if I had to start my job search from scratch in 2026, this series is exactly what I would follow.

Most people prep for interviews by rereading the company website and calling it research.

The better stuff usually comes from connecting the job description to what the company is actually building right now, what employees are saying in places like Blind and Reddit, and what you can learn from someone who already works there.

I only go this deep once I get an interview I genuinely care about. At that point, the goal is to understand the company well enough that your answers sound specific to them, instead of sounding like the same answers you could give to 20 other companies.

And yes, being a little nosy helps.
