I’ve seen so many posts over the last few days saying that parents need to take their kids to see Wildwood, and kids need to be exposed to darker films. LOOK kids are all different ages, so I wouldn’t say a 4 year old could see this, but maybe an 8 year old?? It just annoys me for 2 reasons: 1. Animation isn’t necessarily for kids - can we please just accept that???? 2. Lets put some responsibility back on ADULTS instead of calling out parents of young children to go see Wildwood and help the box office??? Adults who love LOTR and haven’t made an effort to see Wildwood are the problem here. For reference I loved wildwood and beleive it’s a masterpiece, but harassing these parents isn’t the way to help the box office here #movies #animation #film #wildwood #cinema
Clayface makes a convincing case for the sympathetic villain, pairing disturbing body horror with the bleak criminal underbelly of Gotham. There’s a particularly compelling tragedy in the idea of an actor losing the face that defines both his career and his sense of self, although I wish the film had explored the implications of beauty standards more extensively (something closer to themes of ‘The Substance’ for example), rather than directing so much of its attention towards the stereotypical route of revenge. Still, its grimy atmosphere and willingness to lean into the grotesque make it feel refreshingly distinct from the usual superhero films we get, operating just as effectively as a crime thriller as it does a horror. 3/5 ⭐️ #movie #film #dc #clayface #cinema
