These beef shish kebabs were SO good 🤤🔥 And honestly, they were way easier to make than I expected!

I seasoned up some ground beef with onion, garlic, fresh parsley, thyme, cumin, + a few other spices, shaped them into skewers and baked them until juicy with the crispy, slightly charred edges 😮‍💨

Save this one for later because these are definitely going in the rotation! 👩🏾‍🍳❤️

What you need:
	•	1 lb ground beef
	•	Minced Onion
	•	Minced Garlic
	•	Fresh parsley
	•	Fresh or dried Thyme
	•	1 tsp Cumin
	•	1 tsp Coriander
	•	1 tsp Garlic powder
	•	1 tbsp Paprika
	•	Salt + pepper to taste
	•	1 tbsp Olive oil

What to do:
•Mix everything together in a bowl.
•flatted the meat on a parchment paper lined baking sheet
•shape the meat into skewer like shapes and place on a rack
•bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
•Broil for about 4 minutes at the end to get that nice char and crisp🔥

Houston Restaurant Weeks is still here! 🍽️ Until September 7, restaurants all across Houston and surrounding areas are offering special prix fixe brunch, lunch, and dinner menus, and it’s the perfect excuse to try somewhere new while giving back.

I went to Dough Zone (westchase location) and they are offering a 5-course $39 dinner menu!! The best things I had were the soup dumplings 🥟 and the sweet and sour cucumber 🥒. I wasn’t crazy about the other dumplings or the wontons🫠🫠🫠. The noodles were okay. It was definitely a lot of food for $39. It could’ve just been an off day so I’ll still recommend yall going to try it out!

But the best part? A portion of the proceeds from every Houston Restaurant Weeks menu benefits the Houston Food Bank, so you can enjoy a great meal while supporting an amazing cause. ❤️

I made these short ribs and probably the BEST gravy EVERRRR I’ve ever made using @kettleandfire beef bone broth. The bone broth definitely added a level of richness you can’t get from regular broth. Recipe below!

For the short ribs
•2–3 lbs bone-in beef short ribs
	•2 tbsp olive oil
	•1 yellow onion, diced
	•1 carrot, diced
	•2 celery stalks, diced
	•4 cloves garlic, minced
	•2 tbsp tomato paste
•4 cups Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth
	•2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
	•Fresh thyme
	•Fresh rosemary
	•Salt
	•Black pepper
	•Garlic powder
	•Onion powder
	•Smoked paprika

For the gravy
	•Reserved braising liquid
	•1½ tbsp cornstarch
	•2 tbsp cold water
	•1 tbsp butter

What to do

For the short ribs
	•Preheat your oven to 325°F.
•Wash and Pat the short ribs dry and season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
•Heat the olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and sear the short ribs on all sides until deeply browned. Remove and set aside.
•In the same pot, add the onion, carrot, and celery. Cook until they start to soften.
•Add the garlic and tomato paste and cook for about 1 minute.
•Pour in the Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up all those browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
•Add the thyme and rosemary, then place the short ribs back into the pot. The broth should come about ¾ of the way up the ribs.
•Cover and place in the oven for about 3–3½ hours, or until the short ribs are super tender and falling off the bone.

For the gravy
•Remove the short ribs from the pot and strain the braising liquid, pressing the vegetables to get all that flavor out.
•Skim some of the fat from the top and pour the liquid back into a saucepan.
•Bring to a gentle simmer and let it reduce for about 5–10 minutes.
•Mix the cornstarch with the cold water until smooth.
•Slowly whisk the slurry into about 3 cups of the braising liquid.
•Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened. You want it smooth and pourable.
•Turn off the heat and whisk in the butter.
 * DASSIT!
