#AD I’ve been making cakes inspired by the notes of fragrances and today we’re building and decorating a cake inspired by @bathandbodyworks Preserve Collection Wild Blackberry Jam. The main theme here is that inspiration can come from anywhere, so not only the notes of the fragrance but the overall experience, right on down to the packaging. So, not only are the components of the cake inspired by the notes of the fragrance, the decor is inspired by the color theory of the packaging because inspiration is everywhere, so long as you key an open eye.

Layers of soft brown sugar chiffon, sweet blackberry jam, a deep caramel custard studded with pieces of fresh fig all wrapped up in a swiss buttercream!

Making the cake for my besties wedding shower ◡̈

If y’all remember the cake debacle in Greece you’ll know it did a number on me LOL and funnily enough the design on this cake is very much inspired by the cake from that wedding lol

as much as I would love to have made virna’s wedding cake, figuring out those logistics while also being present for the wedding activities…. Nightmare. SORRY. But, im so thrilled to have been able to make her the wedding cake of her dreams in some capacity here xx

Layers of my yolkless funfetti cake, which I honestly hadn’t made in 3 years since posting the recipe, and I forgot how GOOD it is. Reminiscent of grocery store cake texture, very plush. Filled with strawberry jam and fresh strawberry pieces, a silky sexy vanilla diplomat cream, and of course my go to Swiss buttercream.

i’m forever in the pursuit of knowledge. the more i learn about creativity, the more i understand its knowledge driven. the more i know, the better i can create.

a lot of my personal mantras and ways of being are very FAFO driven. yes, do i know x about y? sure. but, what happens if is z to my y? yes, i know sugar not only brings sweetness to ice cream but is mitigating large crystal ice crystal formation. yes i know sugar should be in a certain percentage range BUT what happens if i push the amount of sugar in either direction. i love taking what i ready in books and seeing it in action, applied learning or something ya know.
