this is the last straight style for a while. after this the curls are getting all the attention they’ve been asking for.

but first. monthly length check.

the new @t3micro Aire 360 is fancier than anything i’ve owned and cut my drying time in half. i also went in with their wide flat iron for the smoothing.

then it’s back to protective styling and deep conditioning like i promised her.

comment HAIR and I’ll send you the link.
six years of working from home did not prepare me for working from home with a kid.

turns out it’s not a schedule problem, it’s a systems problem.

here are the 5 systems i’m trying:

🤍 letting ai sort my inbox. now something else does the triage and builds me a dashboard, and i walk in already knowing what actually needs me.

🤍 batching content. i cannot create in the cracks of the day anymore. i used to grab twenty minutes here and there and it never added up to anything good. now it’s one block, one setup, multiple pieces, done.

🤍 protecting an early window. before anyone’s up, before the first message comes in. and i’m not using it to get ahead on work. it’s mine.

🤍 automating the small stuff. i have a @coterie subscription for diapers and wipes every month and it’s genuinely one less thing living in my head. the invisible list is the heaviest part

🤍 deciding in advance instead of in the moment. what i’m wearing, what we’re eating, what i’m posting. decision fatigue is real.

none of it is revolutionary. all of it is stuff i should have done six months ago.

wfh mommies, what’s actually working for you? drop it below, i’m genuinely asking.
new mom style tip that changed everything for me: invest in pieces.

not expensive pieces. pieces you’ll actually wear.

and when i say investing, i don’t mean expensive. i mean buying the thing you’ll reach for a hundred times instead of five things you’ll reach for once.

case in point: i wanted an oversized navy button down. specifically navy, specifically oversized, been thinking about it for weeks. found this one at @jcrew for $89 and i have gotten more wear out of it than almost anything else i own.

open over a tank with jeans. buttoned with trousers for a meeting. thrown over a swimsuit. layered under a coat when it gets cold. it works in august and it’ll work in january.

that’s the whole shift. fewer decisions, better pieces, and a closet that finally feels like it belongs to the woman i am now.

comment NEED and i’ll send it to you.
did i go anywhere after this? absolutely not.

full glam at home on a tuesday and my only audience was a my son and my man.

but you gotta feel yourself sometimes. that’s the part we forget. somewhere along the way we decided looking good needs a reason, an occasion, somewhere to be, someone to see it. it doesn’t.

you’re allowed to do your face for no one. you’re allowed to put on the thing just to remember what you look like in it. we look good for ourselves first, everyone else is a bonus.

nowhere to go and i still felt like a whole person. that counts.
