Can we even call this a hack?! 😂

I started doing this a few months ago because I was tired of wasting dem fruits, but I also genuinely wanted to eat more fruit. I’ve even told some of my friends about it, and now they do it too. Let’s just say it’s been a game changer!

Who knew that simply washing, prepping and leaving the fruit where I could see it would make me more likely to eat it?

If you have a toddler, I recommend making a separate bowl for them with fruit prepared safely for their age. I usually cut or gently flatten blueberries, and I shred or thinly slice my daughter’s apples to reduce the choking risk.

Be honest, how much fruit has gone bad in your home because you forgot about it? 😂 Do you think this would help you or your family eat more fruit?

Side note: I said let me do small cinematic video for you people but I learned a thing or 3 about lighting😭. I left that part in because I wanted to show one of the random things I surprisingly struggled with when I filmed this

The decision to have children is one that deserves a lot of thought, and I wish we talked about that more honestly.

We often see parents come online and talk about how miserable or overwhelmed they are. While parenthood naturally comes with challenges, I also think some of that misery can come from making life-changing decisions without enough planning or simply doing what society expects. Of course, planning cannot prepare you for everything. Finances can change, support systems can disappear and life can take unexpected turns. But when you know you have limited support, unstable finances or very little capacity, it is worth seriously considering what family size and spacing would realistically work for your life. Having children because everyone else is doing it, because family members are pressuring you or because it feels like the “next step” can lead to resentment when it was never truly what you wanted.

Think. Plan. Think again. Plan some more. Consider your finances, your support system, your relationship, your mental health and the kind of life you want to create for yourself and your children.

If you’re a parent, I genuinely want to hear your thoughts. How much can thoughtful planning reduce the challenges of parenthood, and how much of it simply cannot be planned for?

Thanks @moeediggs for sparking amazing conversations 💕

Some days we go all out, but you see those lazy days?? It’s all black with a pop of colour. What does your lazy fit look like? Do you have one?

Were scriptures ever used to silence you, with no room for dialogue, just to get you in line instead of being used as a guide?

I find that, as parents, we can sometimes get lazy. Especially as Christian parents, we can turn to scripture not necessarily as a guide, but as a way to say, “The Bible said this. Now do what I said and don’t ask questions.”

There were times when I had questions as a child and expected dialogue, but instead, I was met with scripture. Not only that, when this particular scripture is quoted, parents may have already gone out of their way to exasperate or rile up their children, forgetting that their children are human beings too. If you are doing things you shouldn’t be doing, it may be very difficult for your children to honour you.

This is one of those scriptures that requires intentionality from both parents and children. Yet, for some reason, the responsibility is always placed on the child whenever it is quoted.

I have so many thoughts about some of the things we consider normal as Christian parents, but I want to hear what you think about this topic. Let me know in the comments.
