I FINALLY tried @seemos.slices in Albuquerque and I get what the hype is all about.

I ordered The Local ($14) which comes with mozzarella, red sauce, beef pepperoni, mushrooms, and green chile. It was absolutely delicious! I’m usually not a huge crust person, but their crust was phenomenal. This was easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. They only service personal sized pizzas but this could’ve fed two people.

I will say that I didn’t love their soda selection. They serve bottled and canned craft sodas, which were good. But their pizza would’ve paired so nicely with a crisp fountain Dr. Pepper or Coca-Cola. But that’s not going to stop me from supporting this small local business!

I tried their pistachio baklava and it was ok. Not my favorite.

I’ve been sharing weekend events around ABQ since July 2022 because this city is far from boring, and I’m determined to change that narrative. There’s always something happening here... you just have to know where to look.

🚨 SPICY SOUP WARNING 🚨 The Levanta Muertos at @elpalenquenm is no joke! 🔥🌶️

But honestly… it just became one of my favorite soups in Albuquerque.

El Palenque is right across the street from UNM on Central, just east of University. The restaurant is filled with colorful, traditional Mexican decor, bright colors, vibrant artwork, and little details everywhere you look. It has such a fun, lively atmosphere. They don’t open until 12:00 PM which does make it hard for people like me who eat lunch early (at like 11:00 AM).

I started with the taco plate ($14.99) with carne asada and al pastor. The al pastor was my favorite, it was so flavorful!

Then came the Levanta Muertos ($11.99): their charro beans, carne asada, and green chile all in one bowl. It’s hearty, flavorful, and REALLY spicy. So if you’re sensitive to heat, consider yourself warned.

Between the food, the colorful atmosphere, and the location, El Palenque is definitely one to add to your Albuquerque food list!

Thanks for the recommendation, @ajdeleoncomedy! 🙏🏼
