People have died here, got married here and also been born here so the house has seen its fair share of events over its history. I must say it’s not a creaky creepy house, as far as we are aware it’s not haunted, it’s never been used as a film location, we get asked if it was the house used in Stephen Kings - Red Rose all the time. Holes in a sandstone window surround 😬 This was not something I expected to encounter when I started this project. The window has been divided in two down the centre with a stud wall which has been nailed into the stone work. 🫣 Wooden battens for curtains and blinds had also been screwed into the top edge and I needed to find a solution to fix this. I wanted to find a traditional product that would create a lasting repair that would blend into the rest of the window surround. To solve this problem I used: 📍Womersley’s Brick and Stone repair This mix comes in various shades to match the type of stone you are working on. It was easy to use and the window surround looks great again without being covered with holes. Hopefully if you have to do any repairs in your own old period property this could be helpful as intially I was really worried how I was going to solve this problem I had just uncovered. #renovation #diy #oldhouse #stonerepair #reno
