Learning to move confidently on snow, practicing winter walking skills, cutting steps, making ledges, and building those solid winter mountain foundations in one of the most iconic spots in Glencoe. You should have seen Nesscliffe on Saturday. We started the hike by walking straight into legend at Kynaston’s Cave — red sandstone, outlaw stories, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve accidentally stepped into a Netflix series. Then I led the squad up the red sandstone steps to Oliver’s Point, where the Breidden Hills, Oswestry and Wales casually laid themselves out like a postcard. We took a well-earned breather, soaked it all in, chatted, snacked, and collectively agreed this view was doing the absolute most. Next, we drifted through a forest of stunning North American Sequoia redwoods and pines, where Shropshire suddenly decided to cosplay as California 🌲✨ And just to finish strong, we explored a 2,000-year-old Iron Age hillfort, because apparently this walk refuses to be anything less than iconic. Quiet Shropshire hill… main character energy. 10 people. Endless laughs. Big chats. Big views. Steps smashed before 11am. History, legend, woodland, hills — and that unbeatable feeling of being exactly where you’re meant to be. This wasn’t just a hike. It was a story you really should’ve been part of.
