Couldn’t resist! 💜 Spotted these gorgeous purple crocuses popping up in the garden and had to get the paints out.

There’s something so lovely about those first splashes of colour after winter - they’re like little reminders that spring is coming. The crocuses have been so brave coming up despite the cold!

Thought I’d have a go at capturing them in watercolour. I’m definitely no expert but it’s such a nice way to slow down and actually appreciate what’s growing.

Plus if I mess up the painting, at least the real flowers still look beautiful! 🎨🌷

Round 2! Learning from last year’s mistakes 😅 This time I’m being a bit more strategic with my timing.

🍆 Aubergines & 🫑 Bell Peppers - these need ages to grow so getting them started now indoors. They’re cosy by the radiator under cover until the seedlings pop up, then they’ll need proper light. Planning to keep them inside until it’s warm enough for the conservatory or outside.

🌸 Sweet Peas - so chuffed I saved seeds from last year’s flowers! Hoping they do as well as their parents did.

🥬🌽🌱 The cauliflower, sweetcorn and spinach from a few weeks ago are coming along nicely - you can see the little seedlings in the video! Started them later this year after last year’s January sowing disaster where everything just sat there doing nothing for months.

Fingers crossed the later start pays off this time. Still absolutely dreading having to transplant anything though! 🙃

Anyone else obsessively checking their seed trays every five minutes or is that just me?
