Comment “Paul” for kitchen 🔗s ⬇️Bananas Foster French Toast Recipe⬇️
Serves 4–6
Ingredients
Bananas Foster sauce
• 4 tbsp unsalted butter
• ¾ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• Pinch of salt
• ¼ cup dark rum
• 4 ripe bananas, sliced ½” thick on the bias

French toast custard
• 6 large eggs
• 1 cup whole milk
• ½ cup heavy cream
• 3 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• Pinch of nutmeg
• Pinch of salt

Bread
• 1 loaf brioche or challah, sliced 1” thick (8–10 slices)

Vanilla bean whipped cream
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 2 tbsp powdered sugar
• 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped (or 2 tsp vanilla bean paste)
• Pinch of salt

Method
1. Whipped cream (do first, chill)
Combine all ingredients & Whip to soft peaks
refrigerate up to 8 hours.
2. Custard
Mix milk, cream, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk in eggs until the sugar is dissolved and there are no streaks of egg white.
3. Soak the bread
Dunk each slice 20–30 seconds per side. The bread should feel saturated but not falling apart.
4. Cook the French toast
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium. Add 1 tbsp butter per batch. Cook slices 3–4 min per side until
deep golden and set in the middle.
Hold finished slices on a sheet pan in a 200°F oven while you finish the rest.
5. Bananas Foster sauce
In a wide skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt; stir until the sugar dissolves into a glossy syrup, about 2 min.
Pull the pan off the heat. Add rum (off-heat is safer; if you want the flame, tilt the pan toward a gas flame at this point keep your face back). Return to heat and let it simmer 1 min to cook off the alcohol’s edge.
Add bananas, gently turn to coat, and cook 1–2 min just until warmed through and starting to soften. Don’t overcook goes to mush fast.

Notes
• Make-ahead: custard can be mixed the night before and refrigerated. Whipped cream holds 4 hours; re-whisk
briefly if it slackens.• Kid plates: make the sauce without rum or pour rum sauce
over adult plates only.

What is worse than your husband doing NOTHING for Mother’s day??? Him doing NOTHING and then making you feel guilty for wanting something… If you feel sad that you didn’t get flowers, It is NOT that your standards are too high, it is that he has gotten WAY too comfortable with you having none. Someone who loves & appreciates you will take full advantage of getting to celebrate you EXTRA on Mother’s Day. To give SOME grace, let’s say maybe he did drop the ball, no one is perfect. BUT, If you kindly brought up that it hurt your feelings, and his response was arguing the validity of your feelings, that you’re not HIS mom, that its a made up holiday or anything other than “I’m sorry”. Trash.
If this sounds familiar, this is just me validating your feelings. I share my life now to let other women know, You’re not alone, but if you want something to change, you gotta stand up for yourself. If he truly loves you, he will hear you out & make an effort to do better. BUT, if he refuses to hear you out… I’m positive this behavior leaks into many facets of your life and sadly, you have your answer. If someone sees doing anything for you as a chore, your life will be infinitely easier without them…

I’ve dubbed this chapter of my life “the divorced wife” era cause I am divorced. My kids and I still live with repercussions of that, but I didn’t give up on finding love and am getting married again this summer. And this time around I’ve learned A LOT and share what I wish I knew when I was younger ❤️‍🩹
