A lot of parents ask me what they should tell their daughter how to deal with outside voices: For me, I have trained myself to use it as fuel to the fire. To not allow it to consume you, but rather to motivate you.

When you see a woman in the game get a hit, throw a strikeout, make a nice play, it’s more than a physical achievement to us. Its deeper. It’s a win off the field. It’s a chase to feel we have something to prove. It’s the desire to feel worthy enough to be out there. A lot of us deal with internal battles of outside voices consuming us. It brings out a deeper “why” in our game. The little wins on the field become big wins off the field. To every girl in the game, keep winning off the field too.
