Feeling strong todayyy!! I love how much her sister cheers her on and how much they learn from each other 🥹🥰

The celebrations are almost as fun as the doing
Ozzy had her follow up appointment today from our inpatient stay last week and into the weekend. She tested positive for rhinovirus/enterovirus with a fever on the first day, but was able to be sent home Saturday even though some of her counts were still too low.

Her Oncology team wanted to pause all chemo starting last Thursday when we went in (we typically give chemo daily) and today we were checking to see if we’re able to restart it. Turns out her counts are still too low, so we will continue pausing on chemo until at least next week when we will follow up again. Grateful we were able to test with just a finger poke.

She’s been feeling so much better and honestly wouldn’t have known we were admitted a few days ago! Continuing to do a nebulizer and her inhalers daily to help move that junk out that she’s dealt with foreverrr. She’s consistently had cold symptoms for like 8 months and I’m constantly working to figure out why. We have some additional appointments to look into things more with ENT, Pulmonology and GI in the coming weeks.

Hoping we can restart her chemo next week! But for now, I guess we’ll enjoy the week off from most meds and the side effects that come with that.

We’re home❣️

An eventful last few days! Ozzy’s still not at 100% (she never is during treatment) but hoping she keeps feeling better! She tested positive for rhinovirus/enterovirus which she had a few weeks ago too, but it could just be whichever one she didn’t have previously. This is basically a common cold which is a really good example of how serious illness can be for our sweet girly pop during treatment when her system is weaker! Really glad it didn’t escalate to something more too.

Her counts were good enough to be sent home this morning, so we’ll continue doing what we can to help her from here like we always do :)

Grateful for you all!!! Happy Mother’s Day weekend everyone! 💖
Morning chat with Ozzy. Her little yes & yeps, what a little hunny. She’s feeling so much better today!

Her blood counts are high enough to be released even though they’re still quite low, and she’s been fever free more than 24 hours, however we’re still having to stay another night to wait for her blood cultures. They sit in the lab for 5 days to see if they’ll have any reaction; meaning she’d be positive for an infection. They require us to stay for 36-48 hrs of those 5 days just to be sure there’s no immediate reaction. So far everything looks just fine which is a great sign since we’re nearing the 36hr mark. Keep those prayers and good thoughts coming!

Ozzy’s getting antsy to leave her room now but she’s quarantined in with being on the cancer and BMT floor. I’m pushing for us to be allowed out if we can get her to wear a mask until we leave the floor for some fresh air!! 🤞🏽
