1. Choosing the wrong base. Lapland isn’t just one destination. Where you stay matters!

- Rovaniemi is best for first timers, families, and anyone wanting Santa Claus Village and easy access to activities.

- Levi is ideal if you want ski or snowboard days, peaceful vibes, glass igloos, and a full winter activities itinerary.

2. Not packing proper thermals. 🥶

Layering is everything, and your base layer is the most important piece.

Uniqlo HeatTech has honestly been the best investment for staying warm in Arctic temps.

3. Waiting around and hoping to spot the Aurora. 🌌

You need a strategy. Use tours (linked in my guide), check live webcams, and download the My Aurora Forecast app.

If you can, book at least 2 nights in a glass igloo 🛖
This is for less light pollution and to potentially watch the Northern Lights from bed!

4. Not packing hand warmers and footwarmers, especially hand warmers! 🧤🧦

They’re a lifesaver for any cold-weather trip.

5. Forgetting a power bank 🔋
