Would you spend the night in a Tudor castle? @thornburycastle (Gifted stay) I spent the night in the same room as Henry VIII! This is Thornbury castle in England, the only Tudor castle that you can stay overnight in. It was built by Edward Stafford in the early 16th century and confiscated after he was executed by Henry VIII for treason. Henry and Anne Boleyn stayed at the castle for roughly 10 days in 1535 during their royal progress, they were actually meant to stay in nearby Bristol, but due to a plague outbreak had to stay at Thornbury instead. It was also visited a handful of times by the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon - Queen Mary I, when she was a child.
