How I Got My Spark Back: The Final Episode

This year I told my therapist that I have learned that one of the hardest parts of the healing journey is how scary joy feels. It’s vulnerable, knowing how far you can drop, and allowing yourself to feel it, anyway.

This year, joy started bringing panic for me. I thought that if I felt it, it means something bad was going to happen soon. In fact, just the other night after some really great news, I started to spiral. My husband looked at me and said, “just let this be good.”

When my therapist asked me “what if you befriended the panic?” I realized that if I kept trying to avoid it, then I’d avoid joy, too.

I’ve learned that no amount of doing anything else can replace the power in allowing yourself to move forward. I’ve learned that the bravest part of healing is feeling joy after loss, dreaming again after things didn’t work out, continuing to believe in miracles when the one you wanted didn’t happen… and allowing things to be good ❤️

You deserve good things, too. Allow them to happen for you. Find hope again. Your story isn’t over yet. Love you. Thanks for letting me share the 6 biggest things that helped me get my spark back.

Should I keep dropping new episodes every so often? Let me know, can’t wait to keep building our lives together❤️
Comment SKIN for my favorite, inexpensive skin care products and I’ll send you my affiliate links (several are on sale right now🥳)

As I started working to feel better internally, I wanted my outside to match. I looked so depleted, like the life was sucked out of me. I started focusing on my face/skin care again.

The *first* thing I did was get my brows laminated! I swear, if I do nothing else, having fresh brows makes me feel like a new person.

Next:
Built a baseline daily skin care routine that could become part of my new routine. I needed something that made a difference in under 5 minutes. Comment SKIN for my go tos.

Last:
When I was up for it, I scheduled a color analysis, and when I tell you it changed my life I am not being dramatic! Wearing colors that brighten my face, changing my hair color based on my tones… 10/10 experience.

Let me know if you want more videos like this? It was fun to make and I love to share what’s working for me!

Don’t miss tomorrow’s final episode- it’s the most important. ❤️
Comment “11” and I’ll send you a podcast episode I did with a therapist about intimacy and marriage after pregnancy loss- it’s not talked about enough ❤️

Episode 4 of How I Got My Spark Back is a good one to send your partner as a way to open the conversation if you haven’t known how.

I hope that by both of us sharing a little of our experience, it will help you know you’re not alone in it, and give you some ideas of things that might be helpful.

The 3️⃣ top things we did for our relationship after loss:

1️⃣ Having honest conversations like, “I don’t have capacity to carry your grief today”. It was one of the hardest and most honest thing I told my husband, and us finding support outside of each other was essential. You can’t take away each others grief, and we learned we just had to sit with each other in it.
2️⃣ Asking myself, “what can closeness look like today?” during the months I didn’t even want to be hugged.
3️⃣ Acknowledging to each other we will grieve differently, and allow each of us to grieve as individuals, and also as a family.

For a deeper conversation, comment “11” for a podcast episode I did with a therapist about going through grief after loss with your partner, it’s a good one to listen to together.

I hope this is helpful.

See you tomorrow where we’ll lighten things up for episode 5 😘❤️
It’s the singing Backstreet Boys and what he says at the end for me 🥰😂

Thought I’d show the good side of men and dads on the internet
