Bible study: Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted & binds up their wounds. 💗

Jesus doesn’t want to just get rid of your pain and suffering and call it a day, he wants to sit with you in it, clean it, bind it, & restore it fully.

Sometimes he heals in an instant, other times he walks us through a process of healing over time.

Wherever you are on your healing journey, know that the Lord sees every tear, every prayer, every hidden part of your story, and he calls you HIS. 💗
I started spending more time outdoors again this year and I’ve been learning what it actually means to be still.

I think that verse can get swept to the side sometimes. We tell ourselves we’re spending time with God but a quick prayer while we’re rushing from one thing to the next isn’t always the same as intentionally making space to sit with Him and listen.

“Be still” doesn’t mean sitting around doing nothing while your mind spirals over everything that needs to be figured out. It means trusting God enough to lay your troubles at His feet and just be with Him.

So many things in my life have changed this year, and being outside, somewhere I don’t have service, sitting by a river, or just lying in my hammock has created space for God to speak because for once I’m not distracted. I’m not trying to fix anything. I’m not trying to rush to an answer. I’m not trying to make everything make sense. I’m learning to trust Him enough to be fully present, even when so much around me is still unanswered.

I think being still is less about having a quiet life and more about having a quiet heart in the middle of an uncertain one… Less scrambling to make sense of everything & more moments of being still. 🦋

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
The fear of the unknown has followed me for as long as I can remember.

Something God has been healing in me lately is this belief that I can’t be at peace unless I know what’s coming next.

The more that I put myself in situations where I have to practice being okay without knowing whether it be traveling somewhere new. Camping. Trying things that scare me. Starting a school program that felt completely outside of my comfort zone… the more I feel like I’m exercising this new muscle of trust.

Like I’m slowly learning that uncertainty doesn’t have to mean anxiety.

I can be in an unknown season or not know what’s next and still be okay and enjoy where I am. I can trust that God will give me what I need when I actually get there.
Don’t forget to unplug every once in a while.

It’s hard to hear God’s voice when you’ve left yourself no margin for rest.

Life is rarely about “doing more” or “trying harder.”Sometimes you just need to step away from the noise and make room for God again even when everything feels like it’s falling apart.
